Invitation to ISOT 2009:   The organizing committee ISOT 2009 extends a cordial invitation to you to come to Istanbul to meet renowned scholars and practitioners from all over the world at a place that is reputed to be one of the most attractive cities of the Europe. Mark your calenders now!

Objective:  The objective of this symposium is to gather researchers and engineers working in the field of Optomechatronics and to provide them with a forum for discussion for exchanging their points of view and experience and sharing their research results through high quality peer reviewed papers. The ISOT meeting is the world’s largest and most comprehensive technical symposium focused on Optomechatronics. We invite you to make your plans to attend the technical and the social programs of ISOT 2009 and have a memorable stay in beautiful Istanbul.

Topics: The scope of the conference will cover but is not limited to:
  • Adaptive optics
  • Adaptive/tunable optical devices
  • Machine vision/optical imaging
  • Laser optics
  • Optical-based sensors and sensor fusion
  • Optical modulation
  • Vision based micro/nano manipulation
  • Optical systems control
  • Visual motion tracking and control
  • Optical and vision-based manufacturing, processes, monitoring, and control
  • Optics for optomechatronic system design
  • Sensors and actuators
  • Laser processing
  • Optical metrology
  • Fiber optics
  • Optical-based inspection and fault diagnosis
  • Micro opto-electro-mechanical systems
  • Micro/nano components and devices
  • Optical assembly and packaging
  • Optical applications in biosystems, robotic fields, and mechatronic systems

  • Paper submission : Prospective participants are invited to electronically submit the full version of their work (in PDF file), following the instructions available on the Conference web site. Accepted and presented papers will be copyrighted to IEEE and published in a conference proceedings that will appear in IEEE Xplore and therefore customarily indexed by EI Compendex.

Some papers will be selected for publication in International Journal of Optomechatronics or IEEE/ASME Transaction on Mechatronics (pls see the CFP for a Focussed Section Focussed_Section.pdf ). Further information about the conference can be obtained from the web site, or the organizers at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Special Sessions : Prospective participants of ISOT 2009 are encouraged to organize special sessions (5-6 papers) in a particular area within the symposium topics. Those interested should contact Yves Bellouard at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   for details.

Social Events: A major goal of ISOT 2009 is to be a catalyst for the establishment of collaborative research activities and long-lasting friendships among the optomechatronics community. With this purpose in mind, social events and tours will be organized to bring the participants closer.

Concurrent event:   2nd IFAC International Conference on Intelligent Control Systems and Signal Processing - ICONS 2009 ( http://www.icons2009.org/  ) will run in parallel to ISOT 2009. The participants of ISOT 2009 will have free access to the sessions of ICONS 2009.
